October, 1927.
25 Tuesday. Another perfect day. The men brought in 8 loads of turnips today. Ella was at a rag bee at Ezra Maurer's today.
26 Wednesday. Fine and mild. The men brought in 9 loads of turnips today. Ella cleaned three rooms upstairs and made mincemeat.
27 Thursday Fine and summery. Walter shipped hogs. They brought in 7 loads of turnips. We had the beef ring meeting here tonight and a fairly good crowd.
28 Friday. Fine and somewhat cooler. They brought in the last load of turnips. Vernon & Walter butchered a pig at Henry Atkinson's.
29 Saturday. Cloudy. Vernon plowed. Walter helped to thresh at Elmo King's for a few hours
30 Sunday. Cloudy & raw. We went to S. School and prayer meeting. Our company for dinner - Mr. & Mrs. Leon Wagner, Eldon, Ruby and Gordon Wagner and Norman Miller. We went to the League Rally tonight. Ruth Schwindt won the oratorical contest. Laura Miller & Irvin Schneider also spoke. Rev. G. Epp of Cleveland, Ohio gave an excellent address.
31 Sunday. Fair and Milder. Walter helped finish Elmo's threshing this morning. Vernon plowed. Elam Weber and his brother were our callers tonight.
