Bronte 1889 10 {circled} Tues.

Jan 1st.. New Years day. very warm; mild day, busy all A.M. In P. M. called for Bertha D. to go for a skate on crekk but thot it hardly safe so gave it up then thot we would try the basin so we went and she stayed on edge, broke through & got her feet wet, so went back & got permission to go on river so we went had a splendid skate quite a large crowd on ice. Bertha skated with Walter J. & I with F. Horning Went up & had tea & had an invitation to spend eve, at Mrs W. but I declined but B. went & I came home met Dave K & he came back with me & we had a very pleasant eve. Arthur B. called & we Had cider oranges, grapes, chestnuts etc. They went at 12. & Ida & I dreampt on Man Belyeas wedding cake which Dave & Arthur tied up for us.

It is over 2 months since I last wrote in diary & great many changes have taken place, Through November we had revival meetings in our church & Dave K Arthur B & Bertha D. all got comverted & have become very much changed. By those meetings I realized much goodness and learned to try & help those who are retrying to help themselves. I got better acquainted with Dave & began to look upon him as a brother.
