as they leaving for home. Phil Wolsley & Marlon came over. I stayed. Mr Alton wanted Phil to go home with him but he stayed & asked me to go to concert next night.

Thur 12th.. Sep. / 89. S & I were busy all day. Got ready for concert at eve. Alf drove us. Phil & Gertie passed us we racing for a while. Concert at Nelson drill shed & promenading to Milton band. It very nice had ice cream & pea nuts Then Phil & I drove down to Burlington station for to meet Wolsley off mid-night. Had a fine talk & lovely & moonlight. Got home at 1 O'clock.

Frid 13th.. Busy all day went to bed at 8.

Sat 14.. Sep. Got through at 4 & finish facing a quilt {hanging?} for Sarah. Mr Alton came but S & I got ready to go over home so we went & had a lovely sing & I Phil played mouth organ. Mr Alton "remarked" they got very well together I wonder if they will always go as well together" Had to strike for another time quick as possible. Phil came home with me & S & Alf together. He stayed till 10.

Sun 15th.. Lovely day very hot. Had a good sleep in A.M. S combed my hair & I hers. Ate dinner & went to church. Mr Williamson from Hamilton preached a very good sermon. About the gathering at pentecost. Got home at 4. Had tea & not quite through when Phil came so Alf & S got ready & went to Bronte while I finished work. & I packed my clothes to go home but we went to Appleby church 1st.. Joe B. there he not very nice. said he was down to B. church but none of us out so he went back again home. Had quite a chat while Phil was getting horse. We met Alf & S & they said I needn't go home till Tues so we drove on home & talked at gate after driving up & down street. He gave me his Photo & wanted some thing in return but I refused.

Mon 16th.. S & I preparing for thrashers. They came at 3 . P.m. Just there for tea. Wolsley & Gertie & Phil all over in eve. helping wash dishes then blacking faces
