August MONDAY, 4

Men started to dig ditch on other place. Took team after dinner. Very hard and stony. Warm and sultry.

TUESDAY, 5

Working at ditch all day with team. Very hot & sultry. A little sprinkle about five.

WEDNESDAY, 6

Men working at ditch all day. I to town in morning to meet Lillian. Mother and she up to Roy's in afternoon. Misty & hot in morning. Brightened by noon but still hot.
