Tuesday, 11

Done chores in forenoon. Brock over to Hershel's to help with roof but the man never came. Drawing out manure in afternoon to Brock’s little orchard. Fine but cold. East wind nearly all day.


Friday, 12


Done chores. Brock over helping Hershel with roof. Snowing until about five. Da stuffing big door in shed with straw in afternoon. We to town to concert but they didn’t have it. Mild and dull.

Saturday, 13

Done chores and chopping. Wilmot here for rooster. Brock at Hershel in afternoon. Da choring & cleaning pens. Cold and quite stormy at times

Sunday, 14

Brock to town at night. Stormy day and cold.
