February 1897

10. Lillian McLennan from Lancaster called this afternoon. Birdie has the Grippe.

12. Dull with high wind in the morning. Turned stormy about noon, now 4 P.M. wild. Sunday will be our sacrament Rev. Graham of Lancaster preached a very good sermon Not many to listen. The Grippe is in every house in the village. Our boys did not get home until 8 P.M. yesterday.

13. A better attendance at church today. Rev A Mtheson preached. To 1 gall coal oul at Frasers tick

14. A goodly number out for the day and The Grippe. The offering today was for Foreign Mission. Pa off, 1.50. Murdy is sick. Grip

15. Fine day. Jimie went off early. Murdy's symptoms are diptherie. Birdie is not so well today.

16. Jimie off early. Murdy is better, feaver down. Birdie as usual. Abrams brought butter gross weight – 38 lbs at 18 cts pr lb .

17. Jimie went off early. will not be home tonight. To 1 lb tea 25. Murdy improving. Birdie slowly 25

18. Marion was at a party at De. La. Maters last night. Far & Ran. to Lancaster to Masson's meeting. I have a cold and sore bones. I am afraid it is Grip.

19. I am in for grip.

20. Dougalls wife is poorly. had twins. they were buried today. Pa got 50 cts of sugar.

21. I came upstairs for the day.

22. I am not very well.

23. Boys drawing wood, weather stormy.

24. Jimie left to assess, will not be home until Thursday morning. Got 700 flour at Willies 2.40. uyeast 3{cut off)

25. The C C's had a social Tuesday night – made about 17.50. Mrs. Ewen Dingwall died 10 A.M. To 1 gall. coal oil 15 18

26. Friday Fine bright day. sent a letter to Uncle Sandy. Jimie went to Cornwall to S. of S. banquet

27. Fine bright day. Cold wind. To 1 Corn broom Far went to Cornwall. Snider paid two months rent. $6.00. I was doing a little work.

28. Cold day, high wind. Mrs. Dingwall was buried, took the corpse into the church, And had a sermon. Uncle Donald & Mary were over. James Whitman, Davids son called this Afternoon. Birdie was out today.
