February 1901

1. Friday. Fine day. Mrs John A very poorly.
2 I was at J.A. yesterday and all night Mrs McDonald died at 11. P.M. Friday
3 Pretty cold but very bright. A large congregation. * Judge Pringle died last night
4 Mrs McDonald buried today
5 Mrs Alan Grant buried today. Stormy.
6 Patrage paid $500 for pasture
7 Thursday. To 100 flour at McCrimmons 2.14 Blue washing 5. salt 5. 2 dox clothes pins 5 4 1/2 lb gran sugar 25. 1 yd lamp wick 5 yeast 5, The weather Keeps cold Mercury, every Morning 10 or lower. 2.15 15 30 5
8 Baked in oven. Donald Dugald took dinner with us he is looking well. Murdy went for Birdie. Jimie has been sick with Grippe since Monday. Cold. but bright
9. Pa taken sick with head ache. Mercury 15. A.M. Kate D.R. came and took Marion out to her home.
10 Mercury below 10. below zero.
11 Kate came home with Marion. Pa {?} shaved and went to see Aunt Kate. he came home and went to bed.
12. Made a washing.
13. Jimie went out for the first time, since last Monday, he is auditing the Council books with D. McCrimmon
14 The W.F.M.S. {Womens Foreign Mission Society} met at A.C's I did not go it is an ugly stormy day. I called at J A's And Mr Givins On Tuesday. 12th I sold 1 1/2 doz eggs at Willies for 30 cts Bot 1 lb tea 25 1/2 lb black tea 25 1 spool thread 5 55
15 Not so cold. Pa is Keeping poorly. Jimie is not well. he got through at about 5. P.M. Murdy went for Birdie. Baked in oven

16 Saturday. turning warmer. Jimie resting
17 Fine day, mercury went up. I was not in Church
18 Another fine day. Made the washing. The village is dull. roads not so good.
19. Mardie Grau Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday There is a great change in the custom of the place since I was young. There was greate feasting on Mardi Grau particularly among the French.

saw the plan of seats for S. of S. {Sons of Scotland} concert on 2d March and took 1.2. & 3. on 3d row. right of the stage.

20 Bright day. Pa is not doing very well. To 6 lb pike 7 ct. pr lb 42.*. Paid 2 tickets 1.00 To sugar 25 cts. Gave Marion 25 1.42 50
21. Fine day. A good deal of traffic on the road. Birdie came home
22. Fine day, baked in oven, not good Jessie McGregor called, she is looking well
23. Cold Bright day. Mercury 12 below zero
24 At 7. A M. Not a greate many in church Kenneth Robertson called. Uncle H. Aunt F and Johnn are sick with Grippe.
25 No water in our cistern, had to melt snow for to wash tomorrow. Pa got up for a little
26 Stormy day. not very cold. Pa up and around
27 Cold wind. Boys drew one load of straw from village barn. put one load of wood into cellar.
28 Fine day.
