March 1903

25. {cont.} Trills and quivers finely. goes low down in bass. Had a letter from Birdie

Got the last statement from cheese factory, and 5.72. The butter cost 25 cts.. pr lb Got from Lizzie Brown 1 qrt maple syrup. 3 oranges. She and Jimie entertained Mills & Porlroon to an oyster supper last night

M G. H McGillivray & Mifs McG. Mr & Mrs Given Capt. H & Mifs Cameron 2 J.A.B. were there also. Saw in papers that Sir Hector Mcdonald suicided

26 Fine bright day. Mrs Montroy. 1/2 day, washing {?} things 25. Far came by Mocasson to remain a few weeks. The helfer had a she calf this morning 25
27. Fine day a slight drizzle in morning. Sold 6 doz eggs. 13 cts. pr doz.
28. Fine day. Far went to Cornwall, walked to Summerstown Station. My cough is loose but the straining of coughing is setting up other ailments
29 Fine day. roads bad. Pa went to church
30 Very fine day, gray frost last night. Jimie went to see Birdie today. Far left for Cornwall. Tom, our farmer topped today
31 Fine day. Jimie got home tonight, had some maple sugar
This month had two events which interested us. The exposure of the corruption of the Ross Government in bribing Gamey. Member for Manitoulin The other the suicide of General Sir Hector McDonald in Paris. he was buried in Scotland

1 Wednesday. Had Mrs Montroy 1/2 day 25 Bot of a squaw 1 fancy basket 25. To 4 lbs butter, at factory. Thomas brought is about 3 qrts of thin syrup. To 100 of flour 25 2.
2. Very fine day. Baked in oven. Sold 7
3. Drizzle of rain and some showers all day. Jimie left for Toronto this morning To 1 gall coal oil. Now 10. P.M. snowing Mary & Daisy were in for a while
4 Saturday. About 6 inches of snow this morning D.M. R's man took our heifer calf today J.C. was in and took tea with us. Lizzie walked to Lancaster. she had an appointment with the dentist
5 Fine day. but cold. forsty, like a March day Birdie & her man were here to dinner.
6 Cold and dull Sold 8 doz eggs at 12 = 96 1 bottle Linseed & turpentine 20. 1 bot Eclec. oil 25 corn starch 9. 2 lbs Tapioca 16. Cocoa 13 1/2 gingar 10 Stripped blue & white print 6 1/2 yds. 52. 5 3/4 yds today 5 cts pr y. yarn 20 cts.. 1 spool thread 5 = 25. Traded for 6 doz sold last week at 13 pr doz. And 25 in cash 45 49 81 25
7 Dull day frequent showers. Gave away the print
8 Another showery day. J. P McL sent for the calf today 10 cts. to Murdy for Carbolic acid

11 Murdy went to Lancaster to dentist, took Lizzie To 1 bot of Perina 100. Fine bright day. To 1 pan bread 24, Murdy A dust pan 1.--
12 Easter fine and bright. Birdie called today.
13. Far left for Gracefield today. Cousin Mary was here to dinner She came with Mrs Owens
