September 1903

1 Tuesday. Fine day, muddy roads. Papa went to Cornwall today, drove luby to Summerstown Station took the cars, he is getting a suit of clothes at Abotts to cost $18 To steak 25. Jimie left with Hugh Cameron to be at Caledonian 100 Sons of Scotland, games tomorrow. J.C. B got back today. Pa got back at 7. P.M. To oranges pears peaches banannas, of each a doz. 75 cts Bread 20 Birdie is not improving very much 95
2 Fine day. I made some preserves, apples. I got from May.
3 Mrs S Grant called. And after dinner Birdie went with her, home To 3 lbs steak 30. 30
4. Sold 2 1/4 doz eggs. 35.. Bot 1/2 lb tea 15 To 6 loaves 30 15
5 Steak 25 cts paid steak got on 3d 25
6 A large congregation
7. Dry day. frost last night
8 Fine dry day. I took May & went to see Birdie May took two baskets of crab apples
9 Fine day. Pa & I went to see Donald Roy & Duncan Mason, & Farquhar Down To 5 loaves 25 cts.. Jimie is painting the out side windows
10 11 Pa & I went to Gore to see Aunt Mary Jimie went to Alexandria to the Fair
11. Jimie went to Cornwall to the Fair took Katy and Colt. Murdy went too
12. To 1 lb B. tea 35 cts.. back Comb 12 cts.. paper needles Pan bread 20. gall. coal oil 23, 4 lb W. soda 10 5 lbs rice 25. 3/4 yd flannelett 7. lemon drops 5 2 spools thread 10. Jimie did not get back from Cornwall yet 8.30. P.M. 52 53 37

13. Jimie got home at 2. P.M. A large congregation, a good sermon
14 Very fine & hot. Pa & I went to Far Hugh & D. To steak 60
15. Papa & I went to see Aunt Flora
16. Sold 3 doz eggs. got 1 lb bisquits 15. 2 spools 10 1 lb raisins 10 fly plaster 10. 9 yds flannelett 108 pan bread 20. 3 lbs stew 21 41
17 We had a call from a cousin of Papas, a young man from Oregon, his mother is papas 1st Cousin he is on his way to Philadelphia to College
18 Friday, Fine after the rain of yesterday. Courie finished putting pieces of cells under the woodshed. Paid him $3.00
19. Joque paid his rent $20.00 sold us tub of butter, 50 lbs. $1000 1 1/2 bush apples 45 The butter is rancid. To pan bread 20 10. 45 20
20 Fine congregation. morning & evening.
21. Fine. Jimie left last evening for Cornwall will be home today. Murdy was all last week in St Andrews running lines for A McArthur & Son of Lancaster And left again this morning. Sold 3 doz eggs at Willies To five loaves bread 25
22. Very fine day. Killed a chuckie Mrs J. McCrimmon buried 3d Con.

24 Dull day heaby gray frost last night. Heard that Johnnie Ewen Dingwall died last night in an Hospital in Montreal where he had gone on Wednesday for Appendicis To 6 loaves 30. 1 lb soda 5 .. sugar 50, 25 lbs flour 58 1.43
25 Fine day. rain last night. Montroy in 1/2 day
26. To beef 6 lbs steak 60. pork 25. Had Dingwall 3/4 day. & Montroy. To Montroy $2.00 cash $2. Credit 4. To Dingwall 1.50. Went to Dingwalls to wake remained 1/2 hour.. Major brought our share of potatoes 3 1/2 bush sizes from bullets to yolk of eggs
