| 18 {Cont.} | Apple Hill. I went in Morning to the Hall where they feed the guests. There is a grand display of finely prepaired food In afternoon I went to the Church And heard very good addresses. And a good Solo, My Ain Countree by {?} Mr Yellowleese. I got a letter from Libby Campbell, Mrs Grant. The evening Meeting was very good. Two solos Minnie McLennan, Mifs Fraser of Lancaster. both very good Minnie sang a solo in afternoon, good too. | |
| 19. | Rain today. our guests left this Morning I feel very dull. And the Afternoon was not very favourable for callers I went to have a nap. Randy left | |

I went in Afternoon to make calls First at Brown's. Stewart has a bad cold, next at J.A. McD. {?} found him in bed, then at D.M. D. Saddlers Some of the stuff was sold at the Hall. Jimie bot pan bread |

| 21 | Kind of dull day. I was very much shocked this afternoon to hear that Stewart Brown was dead, he had a cold And a slight attack of bronchitis, he , it seems was much worse than they thought, for he died this afternoon. | |

| 23 | Bright day. Stewart Brown was buried today Lizzie went to the Manse. & was not at her home. |

| 26 | Fine bright cold day. The Ross Government was defeated yesterday. After 32 years of the reins of Government 75 - to 25, Glengarry went Lib. It was said in November that the Grits would carry this election, as well as the one 'ther. It is said there was plenty of money used here by the Grits | |

I heard yesterday that Mrs Cook (Hellen Campbell died. Saturday. was put in the vault at Cardinall today, will be buried here in the spring. Donald John McLennan died yesterday will be buried tomorrow at Grimleys Cemetary. J.C. wife child and nurse are leaving to night for La Mab I Churned tonight |
