April 1889

1 Monday. I borrowed $600 from Auntie to send to Murdy, with 1000 we had This has been a very fine day. The G. Templer are having a taffy party tonight 16__
2 I am pretty tyred after last night. Jimie gave 1 gall syrup to the party. sold two
3. Got 1/2 gall sugar oil 13. paid for the butter and coal oil that was chargged = 57 + 13 = 70 We heard in the papers that there was a hurrican on the Coast of Simoa and 3 American Men of War wrecked -And a number of the crews perished --70
4 I was not at prayer Meeting last night Womans Meeting at J.A.'s I had an offering paid 10 cts to Mrs McLaurin for dinners to North West. chlldren 10
5 Sent a letter to Murdy. and $1500 for fees 15
6 We are boiling som syrup every day
7. I was very unwell last night, and went early to bed Not many to church Marion paid 10 ct. for Point T. schoolar
8 Fine day. Jimie went to the bush at midnight and began to boil
9. I made sugar on Saturday & Monday and, today, 78 lb in all Peony , heifer calf. on the 8th
10 Anniversitary of our Marriage. Fine day too warm for sap. Davy Taylor, died this morning Jimie pants 2.84 at Willie'
11 Tailor buried this afternon. Far went to Lancaster tonight to go Montreal tomorrow
12. Jimie boiled something today. it does not look very nice I washed. got at Dans 2 lb granulated sugar charged 22
13. Cold & raw. Got 1/2 bush salt
