August 1889

23 did not finish packing. I made a cake today of molasses. Got 1 qrt syrup 15 cts spice 3, brown sugar 50 2 lb granulated 22 1 lb raisins 10. Birdie is at D.D. Marion is at Mr Givens to tea. So is Daisy & Murral It was very fine day about 5. P.M. began to cloud up for rain 68 32
24 Another fine day. Jimie & Pa. went to Cornwall, left here about 10.30. drove Sable I finished Murdy's pants. Far Come home with Pa & Jimie.
25 Sunday, fine and warm, large congregate
26. I went to Lancaster. and took Mrs Monro with me, we were at the woolen mill I got my yearn 12 3/4 lb. 14 cts pr lb. Drove to Depot. bot at Sandy's for Birdie 14 yds cloth, 7.00 - 20 yds flannel 4.00 1 pair boots 3.50 ticking 75 cts 6. yds Melton cloth =. 75 cts {Melton cloth, woven in a twill form and traditionally made of wool, is a very solid cloth whose finishing processes completely conceal the twill weave pattern} 75 cts $16. in all Your text here...
