October 1889

22 Very fine day. Had a good meeting at the Lodge last night. Dr and Lilly, Maggie Falkner were nominated. Mifs McGillivray, Lenne Ritch James Finly were also nominated Bot of Jew. 2 pair braces 40 cts each. I went to see old Mrs McLennan, who leaves for Apple Hill tomorrow. bot at J. Angus' 9 lbs beef 7 = 63. paid 56 on 8 lbs I got from Sandy McIntyre 1.19
23 Wednesday. Mr Elder conducted the prayer meeting Rev Arpad has gone on a visit

25 Boys are preparing to go to M.ontreal tomorrow. I am trying to finish a pair of pants for Jimie
26 The boys did not go. they got word last night that there would be no game Murdy got suit Jimie went to Lancaster. And paid $.3800 33 to Sandy for one. Far came home with Jimie It looked like rain all day. very mild.
27 Rained today raw and cold. Rev. McKay Summerstown preached a very fine sermon, and a fervent prayer.
28 Butchered our fat cow today, she weighed 535. when dressed we did not weigh the hide
