23 Saturday. Baked bread Birdie made a flag Jimie bought a small Union Jack, And Birdie got white cotton and made the flag. Randy put it up in the parlor chimney
24 Our flag is still flying. A fine day and a large congregation

26 Pa & I went to see Peggy she is pretty well for her age 86
27 Got 1 lb tea at J.A.'s 45 cts. Marion had a tooth pulled by Mowet 50 45 50
28 I am almost done of the pants, baked today Pa & Murdy fanning buckwheat
29 Warm today, And the first night for misquitoes, in any quantity, They are appalling
30 Fine day. Hatty came last evening Got 2 lb rice 10 cts 3 lbs sugar 20. Heard today that Sir John A was dead 30
