August 1891

1 Saturday. Jimie Murdy & Randy went to Cornwall this morning to play lacrosse I{t} was showery all forenoon
2 This has been a fine day, a large congregation
3 Fine harvest day, began to cut the hay on the 30 acres. And put in one load. Whitford put in one load Bird & Marion left here 20 minutes after three this morning to take the boat for Montreal Jimie drove them down got 4 lb steak 36 cts.
4 Ran took a notion to go to the North West There is an excursion to Manitoba by C.P.R. today
5 Had Pigion 1/2 day working at hay
6 Womans Meeting in vestry of church A good many present. finished the hay
7 Friday. Bird & Marion came home this evening. Bird got me 1 pair cloth slippers 1 pair premilla boots 80 cts 25 80
8 Done little today. got 1 pan bread 1 lb tea 75
9 Some strangers in church
10 Marion Birdie went for a visit to Apple Hill. Ran drove her out in evening he got home about 11 P.M.
11 Jimie & Jimie Brown & Ran left for Toronto on an excursion The Odd Fellows of Cornwall have. Rev D.D. And wife were here, he to dinner. she went to Ritchardsons's. Got can salmon sugar 10. 2 loaves 12 paid 1 ct for postage About 6.30 it began a storm of wind then rain, it was pretty heavy 15 22
12 Wednesday. I washed the whiting off the Kitchen ceiling
13 Got 1/2 gall paint oil 95 cts 1 pint spirits turpentine had the other paint, And gave one {back?}
