saw that the grass grew some for the first time. John was to Ayburn this morning. I split wood after dinner. Osmond came out with some flocks for the wood shed. Was here for dinner & tea. The roads was to loud. Beesie Young got stuck down by John S. Kinners & they had to draw her out. Cecil went to lodge, he tried to drive through blaresee's yard, got stick & had to back up, & come through be the corner after all, got through but was all he could do.

April 5 Thursday 5 It rained last night and this morning. Clarence Gelland died yesterday afternoon and Mrs. Appleford passed away this morning about two o'clock. Cecil drove his car out their orchard and down the side-road. Then they are going to London to see 18th degree work put on. Osmond and Verne drew logs to-day. Osmond phoned out after supper to offer to take us to Appleford or to Gellands to night or any time to-morrow.
