Friday 9th Cold and pleasant. Went to saw mill. Could not get lumber. 123 lbs of flour from Kennedys 1.0.111/2 Paid oil and other things. Phillip got 5.71/2 paid. me 1.3 bringing sugar. Robert and Fred chopping. Went to Salters for 2 barrels of fish for Kennedy.
Saturday 10th. Chopping. Fine and mild.
Sunday 11th. Fine and pleasant a few flakes of snow falling in the morning and during the night.
Monday 12th. Mild wind from the East. In the afternoon stormy. Chopping till noon. Mother began to use the last bag of flour.
Tuesday 13th. Strong wind from the east and very mild. Snowing? and raining all day. Went to Kennedy with Salters fish also to the Mouth paid for ten? corn 5.0 sh. for molasses 5.0 for flannell 3.6 for matches 3 d. received from Reid the 3 d paid by mistake to Roy. Paid to Roy at Kennedys for 42 pounds of flour for J. Goble Paid 1..3 for oil can for Father received 1..3 from etc. for etc.
Wednesday 14th. Mild with a few light showers in the evening. snow. Father left for Kinkardine Phil? drove him in the sleigh to Bruce. Received from father 10.0 d chopping.
Thursday 15th. Slight frost but mild during the day chopping getting sweedsin and some wood home. half sleighbox of sweeds.
Friday 16th. slight frost and some snow. Wind north wes Chopping.
Saturday 17th. Dull cool wind from the north west with a little snow chief part of the day cutting fire wood, chopping. Fred doing odd jobs all the morning. Phil at home in the afternoon. Received the Canadian Agriculturalist for February.
