card for Index box. After tea Dorothy and I went to Bijou and saw Mae Marsh in "Hidden Fires." Very good. Called at office on the way home for paper for Charles. Wrote to Stan, Pauline (acknowldg. $5 for Fund) Nell and Miss McNaughton for Mrs. {T?}

Tuesday Sept. 21st.

Little warmer but still have the furnace going. Still unsettled what Dorothy is to do. She and I went down to Sample Room at McDonald House to see hats Mr. Boyd had. Each got one. Took form C's dictation and typed Editorial on "Navy League of Canada." Worked at centrepiece for an hour or more. Wrote to Miss Thomson (re Dorothy's stay at Residence of Margaret Eaton School) and to Miss Small and Mary McCarrel. Walked 6 miles and a half (3 times around race track 1½ miles and from McManus' corner to Neil Moore's Corner & back 5 miles - Total 6½. Dorothy had afternoon tea at Mair's and then played tennis at the Park with Misses Vi Mair Florence Leslie and Duncan for 4th. Got very warm in afternoon.
