and I worked an hour at my centrepiece. Went to station at 9.p.m. to post letter to Clare.

Friday Sept. 24th,

Worked in the garden with Charles for 3/4 of an hour before breakfast (taking up potatoes. Then Dorothy and I worked at the Job for an hour and a quarter. Went down to the bank with the s.s. collection. After dinner worked about 2½ hours at my centrepiece and finished it. Went down town with Charles' collars. King away & no chinaman to take his place so Mr. Davison sends the laundry away. Awfully hot. August weather.

Saturday Sept. 25th.

August weather. Charles and I worked at potatoes for 3/4 hr before breakfast and after breakfast Dorothy and I worked for an hour and a half. Wrote a 2½ page (single space) letter for Charles. Finished "Harriet and the Piper." Went down town to do some shopping. Got another letter from Charles which I shall type after tea. Dorothy and I worked for an hour. 4.45 - 5.45 at the potatoes. After tea
