Margaret and Alice. 3 minutes Silence at 11 a.m. 3 taps of town bell. Did not hear it but kept 2 minutes silence at 12.a.m. Charles went to Soldiers' Memorial Meeting at 8 p.m.

Friday Nov. 12th.

Snowed all night and when I went out to shovel about 9.30 a.m. there was 12 inches of snow on our walk. Took me an hour in the morning and 3/4 of an hour in the afternoon to get the walk cleared. (snow about 1 inch after I shovelled). (Mr. Bell says he waded to his knees some places going to the early train.) Wrote to Dorothy and Clare. Knit from neck to other side of sleeve on dress. Miss Evans called in the evening and Duncan came up & he, Charles and I played Seven-Up.

Saturday Nov. 13th.

Washed the {palm?}. Charles came home from the office about 11. 30 a.m. feeling ill. Had Dr. Rannie up in the afternoon. No symptoms but temperature. Went down to Hall but was too late for
