down for the Mail and as I forgot to take the Church Home Rolls down to Charlie came back for them and took them down. Mr. Bell called in the morning to discuss Soldiers' Monument with Charles and Mr. Caldwell called in the evening. 'Lily" (New Stenographer Miss Brown) does not seem to be very capable. Finished knitting dress and sewed it up - collars, cuffs and cord & tassels still to do. Wrote to Frank and Dorothy.

Thursday Dec. 2nd.

Beautiful day. Sunshiny - like Spring with a touch of frost in the air. Charles still in bed - did the usual sick room chores and swept and dusted the room. Wrote 5 letter for Charles and a letter to Miss Stead. Went down for the Mail and up to see Mother who is still in bed also. After tea started down for Dr. Rannie's but met Mrs. Cavill who told me he was out in the country so went to see Mrs. Hooper. She is still in bed but feeling somewhat better. Mr Caldwell was up after tea.
