hunted up books for Mr. Black. Charles & I went to Guelph on afternoon train, arriving there about a quarter to 8 - ½ hour late. Had supper at Wellington Hotel. Charles did some businessand about 9 o'clock we went out to call on Mrs. Luton. Raining when we went but very cold in morning.
Thursday Jan. 20th.
Had breakfast at hotel and read in the paper of Sir Martin Harvey's illness but having gone as far as Guelph decided to go on Train ½ hour late in leaving Guelph. Nell met us. Douglas home from School with sore eyes. Dorothy did not meet us as she was at the Christopher Settlement where she works three mornings a week. She came up in the afternoon. Then we went to her rooms to see her and Gwen. Afterwards Nell, Dorothy & Charles & I went to Britnell's to browse around & got some books. At 8 started for Theatre to see "The Burgomaster of Stillemonde {Stilemonde}." Nell, Dick, Dorothy, Doug Nickle, Charles and I. Play
