Mrs. Harry Stevens and Miss Kirkwood called to get contribution for Scotch supper. Called at Hooper's to enquire as to result of consultation of Doctors' Mair & Morgan this Morning. Give no hope for Mrs. Hooper's recovery and say cannot operate as Malignant. Poor Aldyth was feeling very badly. Went to Mrs. Leitch's to return book of Scotch stories and to Charlie's store where learn that Isabel sick and Frances has mumps. Babe had colic one night, also. Wrote Prologue to "Haunted Bookshop" and began at Scene I.
Saturday Feb. 19th.
Nice day. Fairly cold. Went down for meat in the morning. Found Duncan here when I got home. Spent some time hunting up pictures for drawing patterns for him. Wrote to Dorothy, Mr. McKaye, Mrs. McCaul and Miss McEachran. Called at Mrs. Leitch's to get Choruses to copy. After tea made 20 copies each of 3
