heard from John who is still a part of the Egyptian Army. He had been sent to Constantinople on a Medical Mission and had been given a week's leave to see the sights and had had an audience with the sultan. Slept inside

January 24th. (Saturday)

Read all morning while I watched for the Milkman. Keith brought up the Meat. Practised over two hours altogether. Coldest day this winter I think. Went to call at Stanley's.
