April 2nd (Friday)

Good Friday. Raining hard in the Morning. Hemmed the other end of the table cloth. Prepared grapefruit for breakfast for Dorothy and Doug who got up about 10.30. Helped Dorothy throw out and burn some of her old letters. Hearing that Mrs. Holford's body had arrived went over to her house to see if I could do anything to help. Mrs. Lawrence (Mamuie's cousin) was there. Then went down to the Manse and Biehns to tell Mrs. Biehn Mrs. Holford was dead (died after an operation for gall stones. Performed by Dr. Middlebro at O. Sound) Walked up and down the walk for an hour with Charles. Air fresh and energising. Cleared up cool. Practised ½ an hour Dorothy and Doug went down to McDonald's and Borothy went to a tea at Lynda Simpson's. After tea Edna, Mar. Jack and Wat came up and the Young folks played bridge until 10 o'clock when they went to a dance in Biehn's Hall. Blizzard at the time.
