boat to arrive! Walked up and back a couple of times and finally left without waiting for it. Did not arrive during the night.

Friday August 6th.

Beautiful day with cool breeze. Went down to dock to see Jack, Clare, Charles, Charlie and Nell off to Southampton in the Naidauac to bring Tim Neelands up to Oliphant. They went armed with a warrant for Tom and decorated with detective stars etc. Went down to the dock again to superintendent Doug's Swim. Got him dressed. Found he had left his hat in the "Jutland" so went back with him to get it. Wrote to Mrs. Ryan - took it up to the P.O. Wrote to Mrs. McCarrel, Miss Anna Ross and Frank. Pearl Buckley & Mabel Armstrong. (congratulations in passing Normal Entrance) Folks arrived about 6 p.m. with Tom. Swept 3 upstairs rooms & stair and got front room ready for Tom. Walked down to dock to meet them. Made up list for Regatta prizes which were
