off. Went up to the post office to register a letter for Clare (rode up on running board of King's car - Floyd Buell going away. He and Marian are engaged. Walked back. Walked down to Davey's with Dorothy to see Ferna. Mr. Davey drove us up to P.O. and Ferna stayed for awhile, then Dorothy and I walked back with her. Worked at my tray cloth. Wrote to M. Caldwell, Mr. M.A. and Aldyth Hooper and played a game of bridge after Alice went home - took her place. Rained quite hard for awhile about 3 o'clock and was quite windy.

Tuesday Aug. 10th.

Looked grey in morning but cleared up and is fine day. Isabel and I went in for morning dip. Wrote to Miss Small, Mother, Miss McEachran. Worked at my tray cloth. Played bridge in the evening. Clare and I against Nell and Duncan. Dorothy got a letter from Doug Nickle which made her very angry. She went into Wiarton to a dance with Harold Wright.
