Frank and I hoped to get the last of the old trees down home cut to-day but did not manage it. It was so late when we got all the chores done we thought we would have an early dinner and go immediately after, but Art Quanbury came after me to look at his heifer then when we got down town we could not get a ladder. While we were there John H. McBride came to see me and we came home with him. Just as we had finished tea Guy Tuple came for me. This has been the coldest day so far this Winter 20° below, not so cold tonight. We had a fine letter from Tobe to day and the card we should have received on Tuesday.
