Huby said he was with him down at Hobbe's boat about a quarter to eight where he found him dead so he must have diwed quickly and ther was no sign of struggle nor there was niot stretcjed out with his head back like they are when they get strychine neither waas there anbu indication of a blow or that he had been shot, so dad. couldn;ttewll wha he had got. Huby brought an old sam=ndwich over which he found near him but dad. didn't think that had any thing to dow ith it. It is too bad as Hunby just had him nicely trianed and said he wouldn't take a hundred dollars for him. We did all we could in Simcoe (but couldn;t get any rock salt nor queen excluders) and got back about two o'clock. We didn;t do much after we had our dinner but I blocked up all ther holes I coulsd find in the old cicken yard and this after noon & ti-night caught caught about two dozen of the biggest cockrels and shut them in there. Dad. saus Hec. Henderson was ob=ver t-day as one of the committee they have in town to help the farmners out and urge them to grow more wheat next year Dad. told him we goud gewt on all right and would pit in (Obscured number} acres pf wheat if the weather would let us.
