My Wife deliver'd of a Daughter at about 11 Oclock at Night

Cut my Wheat, had 540 Sheaves

3 1/2 bushels sowing of wheat destroyed by Hogs Cut my Pease & Threshed them had about 10 1/2 bushels fro 1 /2 Sowing

Cut my Hay at home about 3 Tons

Cut Hay at my Father-in-laws about 3 Tons

Rece'd account from Detroit by an Exprefs that came in three days that the Indians had a battle with Gen'l Wanes army on the 20th. Inst't and lost considerably, among which was Charles Smith (clerk of the Court) and Anthony Lafsell also Dan'l McKellep (formerly a Serg't in Butters Rangers) with 5 Other frenchmen about 40 Indians Kill'd


Aug't. 28----------------------

Arrived an Exprefs from Detroit informing that Gen'l Wane has retreated back from the Maimies and that the Indians have taken most of their Horses which was all the Provision Whane had to Subsist his Army ~ News likewise received that Lord How has taken a Sail of Frenchmen of War -- and in a battle combined Armies have kill'd 22000 French
