FEBRUARY THURSDAY 3 1876
very Cold
Go to Tannery at 8½. Geo Watts comes to Tannery with me, & buys 1 sd Sole (Damaged) at 6 xx 27 cts, = $432, Paid
Have talk with H Causon about his Wages & tell him about TP&Co letter rc'd by one last night, that they Co. could only get offer from LJ Campbell for the Whole Hides of 28 cts 4 mos. Hugh agrees to take $10 per Week & no less, this does not include the agreement about watching. I go home at 7 P.M.
FEBRUARY FRIDAY 4 1876
Cold stormy. Alex Swinton calls at house with his a/c $225. I pay him $125, on a/c. Mail letter to Barry & Sloan about leat & to E H Scadding. Car comes down last night with I suppose 10 Bbls O Extract in Bond, re'c Postal Card from C Tarble about it bring at 7 & {Eui?} & mail reply this A.M. telegraph this A.M. to Coll with CSRR Agt at Victoria about it, Make Bbl Soft Soap at tannery this P.M. Buy Post Stamp - 50 cts.
