MAY FRIDAY 5 1876

Take Boat at 7 for Niagara Expenses $225 Pay Scadding yesterday $100 for having my Coat fixed last fall. Very Cold & Stormy Crossing Lake River full of Ice. Hard work getting to Wharf, Boat dont go to Lewiston.

MAY SATURDAY 6 1876

Go to Tannery at 7. Get Horse & Buggy from D Waters & go to StC & take wife. Capt Dick brings me Papers by Boat this AM from Blake Kerr & Boyd. I take them to StC & hand in to Ford McDonald & pay him 60 cts. It is the answer to Bruks bill in Chancery. I sign & execute I C Deed to land in Raleigh of Mr Settles for Ryker (J.C.) I draw on TP&Co for $1900 as per instructions from them, draw at 3 mos @ 7 3/8 & send TP&Co r Expense $1857. Dis & Stamps $42.42. Pay Tom Mills this Eve'g $20 on a/c.
