Weather soft
Go to Tannery, find Car of coal there for me, a large load. Geo Cummings, Hughs & myself & Prosser busy at Boiler & Furnace all day till 5 P.M. get steam up. Jim Longhurst calls at my House at 8 & tells me Hughs must go to StC tomorrow to give evidence in Re Jno McMillan.
New Currier sent by TP&Co comes today from Brooklin
DECEMBER THURSDAY 14 1876
Go to Tannery at 7 Stay all day meet Hughs on road to StC. Two new Curriers come from Fergus. TP&Co send them Ship 6 Backs 68½# to E Peach send Invoice to T.P. & Co. Prosser goes on to watch. I tell him the heat to Keep up. Hughs does not come home from StC tonight. Rack with Leat {leather} falls in Dry Room this Eve'g. no steam on. Pay Geddes $150 cheque of TP&Co this day for Freight.
Amelia {Mars?} calls tonight. I see Fleming & Deal at {Webbers?} as I go home this Eve'g.
