DECEMBER SUNDAY 17 1876

Dont get up till 10½ dont go to Church Wife goes. I go to Tannery at 12. find all right Geo Cummings runs Steam till 12. I stay till 4 P.M. & G Suirs stays till Watchman comes on. Clock stops last night at 9½. I wind her up this P.M. Hughs gets home at 4. been away since Thursday A.M. Barry calls at 6 at house. Mrs Courtney at 8½. I lend her for Fare to StC & back $150.


DECEMBER MONDAY 18 1876

Get to Tannery at 7½. Find Hughs there. He looks hard. I dont say anything to him or scold him about his spree at StC. I roll up Leat {leather} for Toronto & Hamilton. Hughs goes up town at noon says he got a Glass of Whiskey at Doyles.
