1872 November 1 got home from Kingston this afternoon stopped all night at William Jacks Got the yarn all right got 300 of flour times 3 per 100 of cornmeal & Rye * 2 flour in all $12.60 two top two carrots & put them into pit fine day three the Revd Mr Robinson preached in the evening for doing the corn stalks they are in very good order considering so much wet weather five mended three pair of boots & shoes fine day six huge two sticks for the cow stable put them in got the stones leveled ready for the gravel seven do six loads of gravel to the stable & two loads of sand for pee Moore 40 bushel 40 cents time 50 cents eight Drew seven loads of gravel to the stable fine day 9 rided six bushel of peas for seed put them in two barrels got some wood & other chores the Revd Mr Green held his annual Bible meeting in the schoolhouse stopped with us all night 10 I took him Ascot this morning took dinner at Mr parr's the Revd Mr Robinson preached in the school house this morning 11:00 do 6 loads of gravel to the stable fine day 12 worked in the stable grounding part of the East End heavy rain all day everything in a swim 13 work in the stable got eight bushel of lime from H Pankhurst I finished grouting the east & and boarded part of the side next to the stable 14 worked at the stable grouted the side next the stable & part of the end & that is all the grout I have rain most of the day 15 worked at the bail logs & got them in to the stable & bored part of them very cold wind all day 16 worked at the back logs Humphrey young helped me began to snow in the night snowed & stormed most of the day this is the first snow this fall 17 no meeting this morning Mr toplan preached at {illegible} 18 worked at the Bales Ellen helped at night the in the afternoon we got the Bales fixed so that we got the cows in to night stormed all day
