May 31st Cooler but very dry. Hoeing new Strawberries the second time.

June 1st. still very dry. hoeing.

June 2nd. Extreme heat today and Terrible dry strawberry crop {Illegible} done for willing {feat?} and burning up. have had 8 men to pay this week. About 95 today.

June 3rd went for a picnic left about 12 oclock to {Illegible} + {Illegible} to Bellfountain. + Credit Forks. + back by Brampton. 111 mils Hot.
