Fri | Aug 4th | cloudy and heavey rain. we was hoeing corn untill the rain came cutting up thistles after the rain. the ground very wet ditches full of water. wheat in a bad plight |
Sat | Aug 5th | clear part of the day and very hot at times the boys Sawing Sawing Stove wood most of the day. I was cutting up thistles part of the day part of the time, repairing wheat Shocks I find the wheat growing. the ground very wet |

Mon | Aug 7th | thunder clouds a good part of the day and very hot. we ware unbinding the Sheaves of wheat East of the house. they ware very much grown and wet, drew them in this after noon |
