Croton May 1889
Wed May 8 th clear and hot, I was breaking clods most of the day. Walter was harrowing corn ground. Susan Lampman was buried to day
Thur May 9 th clear and hot. I finished triming the apple trees this fore noon. there was a great lot of dead wood in the Orchard the trees are dieing out very fast, after noon war repair-_ing a pair of barrs to the calf pasture. Walter harrowing corn ground the cherry pare + plum trees are out in full bloom.
Fri May 10 th a very hot day. sharp lighting and thunder not much rain here. we washed our sheep the water quite warm
Sat May 11 th clear and cool. Walter was marking corn ground. I was planting corn part of the day, part helping to casterate colts
Sun May 12 th clear and cool.
Mon May 13 th cloudy a little sprinkling of rain I finished plantin the 3 1/2 acre field with corn
Croton May 1889
Mr Skinner short the sheep, Walter was cultivating and harrowing for corn
Tue May 14 th cloudy fore part of the day latter part clear and cool. I was planting corn, Walter was marking and rolling corn ground
Wed May 15 th cloudy a prospect of rain, we finished planting our corn.
Thu May 16 th cloudy, thunder shower this after noon we were drilling in a small piece of corn for cattle feed, and planting potatoes.
Fri May 17 th clear and very hot, we were sowing carrot and mangold seed, all throug seed _ ing now but a fiew turnip seed
Sat May 18 th clear most of the day and very hot 90 deg in the shade. I was working in the garden in the fore noon. after noon cutting thistles, Walter finished rolling out corn ground in the fore noon, after noon harrowing for John.
Sun May 19 cloudy and warm.
