Still we are at work in our harvest but now we hope soon to see the end of it. We got in two more loads this afternoon one from the new ground (rakings) and the others from the front fields. I went out to Dover this morning and took Mother. "Tallyrand" the great French statesman and diplomitist just before his death is said to have written the following. "Behold, eighty years passed, away! What cares! What agitation! What {illegible}! What ill will! What sad complications! And all without results, excpet great fatigue of mind and body, and a profound sentiment of discouragement with regard to the future and disgust with regard to the past." How different to this from Paul's exclamation at the close of his earthly career.
