It rained until almost noon to day. My calculations were frustrated by this, for a time But not long, for I started after dinner. Jack Butler went with me to Hamilton. We arrived at the American in time for tea. We put up here for the night. Our trip down was not a very pleasant one, on account of the bad roads, but after all it only took us about seven hours and a half to get here.
