Sun. 31. nice sunshine but bitter cold at night. 7 below zero. 4 eggs. not bad for such weather they cannot get any farther than the hen house roads getting broke slowly. Arthur did not go to Bertie poor Mary was burried this afternoon poor patient girl she is done with her suffering oweing to Hattie's good nursing she was spared to prepare for a better world than this if Hattie had not gone to her she might have gone without any preparation to meet the Maker.

Mon 1. sun nice & bright but cold not too cold as yesterday. Paul took the children to school in the cutter then he went to Chippewa walked. took a roll of butter 2 lb 13 oz got down to 26 cts again. lb tear 30, gran sugat 25, ginger soda 5 note paper 1 d, butter came to 80.74. paid out 80 wind blowing tonight from the southwest: 4 eggs today. Paul bought his shirt & sock I churned & worked the butter. Marjorie working on her waits.

Teu. 2. very changeable the bear saw his shadow Paul went to Clifton & stayed all night. Maggie Heximer here for dinner quite good sleighing Maggie rode home with George he had a big load mill feed, we had to do the chores.

Wed 3 Paul got his pay & bought his rubber boots, bought a soup bone out of the money he owed us I put a pie on to cook for supper, getting a little warmer. Will & Arthur breaking the black colt. nice sunshine. I got up at 7 blacked the stove & made pie

Thur 4 beautiful day Marjorie & Paul went to the mill got 35 lbs bran & 80 lbs midlings for the cows Paul went on to the Falls to change his boot - got a wrong number. she took 2 lb 1/4 & 2 doz eggs 38 pr doz 6 d. painkiller 25 spool thread 5 sugar 25 silk 2d rice 10, toweling 12 cayenne 5 salt petre 3 salts 10 bread 5 turpentine vaseline 5. I baked the bread after I mixed it made biscuits for dinner. snow going fast last day of sleighing

Friday 5. sleighing gone water laying all over yard I swept the back yard water just in little ponds. Marjorie went over to Riexingers to phone for Minnie Brown I churned & worked the butter Paul brought over two barrels with a lot of rotten apples

Sat 6 poured rain towards morning & the wind blew a gale from the west. I pealed a lot of apples made 4 pies & ginger cake Marjorie swept the front room & the kitchen & cleaned it Marg Riexinger here
