about seven brought McGhie base up from Elgin station $650 cts freight on it I spent 20 cts this eve was a nice cool day

9th I have this morn $148.02 cts we took Murphy Job to Portland had dinner at Mr Homer Grahams we got his wagon to go down to Warf got through & down to Portland about six got no money on this Job it is $150.00 had tea at Murphys $1.00 spent 20 cts We loaded Ripley base Will Charleton & Ross Cannon helped us we came to Elgin got there about eleven the freight on bases was $11.20 cts warfage 80 cts we left Baker base at warf untill I will be out again was a nice day

10th We Erected MrGhie & Ripley Jobs Jim Bishop left about two for home I had tea a little early went to Portland to see WH Gallagher back to Elgin about ten Mr Ripley gave me $10000 on his owes me $5000 I owe him two posts I gave J Bishop $11.75 cts owe hime 25 cts was a nice day

11th I erected Pennock Job got $15.00 on it there is a balance of $1200 due one year from now erected Edgar Job it is either $800 or $700 there is a foot stone to go with this & two with Pennocks Edgar is not settled for I put Mustards posts on lot to day Mrs McGhie gave me a cheque for $200.00 I settled I settled with Mr Hathey $900 Mr Dargavel 20 cts for cement Mr Johnson
