{written above the line} a little sprinkling in the afternoon.

{Back on line} Mon July 30. Fine and cool. N.W. wind. terrible dust. Miss Edeys in eve.

Tue Aug 1. Fine and moderately warm. great traffic. a letter from Maude Morse. then I phoned her. We are getting lovely tomatoes off our vines. we took up Onions.

Wed Aug 2. Maude Morse came on the 12.02 car. it came a terrible storm about three o’clock. with hail while none at the Village. a terrible wind storm west of here. Mr D. in.

Thur Aug 3. Fine and showery. a gentleman called regarding the Oil for road.

Fri Aug 4. Fine with terrific n.w. wind the oil tank came about 6.30. we gave $3.00 each of we 1.50 {written above} $.

{Back on line} Sat Aug 5. Fine bright with a cool north wind. the road is in a splendid condition after the oiling. Auntie and I at Mary Watsons in the evening.

Sun Aug 6. Cool and dull. Auntie and I at church supply as Mr McDonald is away on his holidays. It started to rain heavily about three o’clock. then partly fair at church time. I went alone in the evening. rained very heavy {thro?} night.

Mon Aug 7. Civic Holiday, damp with occasional showers. the traffic immense in the evening a continual stream 45 to 60 in five minutes. Willie called at the door. also Alice and {Hugh Sefton?}.
