October 31st 1862

Mr James Cameron Island Lake St Francis

Went to the Depot New Lancaster or North Lancaster for the First Time ever I was there though Born in Glengarry Charlie and I went to mr John Wrights Hotel Had a couple of Rounds Bought of Dan R. Cameron a Butter Print -/7 1/2 the First House in the Depot I ever was into came home Charlie and I a Ball at the Kintail House tonight Charlie Brought me some Pumkins

Nov the 1st Charlie and me to Salmon River Charlie got the Boots Through Mr Judge Watsons Means and used him well Bought of D Baker 1 lb Tobacco -/7 1/2 1lb shot -/6 1 yard of chain for Trap -/4 4 pipes -/2 Bought of Congdon 1/2 lb Hoarhound Candy -/7 1/2 Liquorice -/2 took Dinner with Bill at Cambells stopt all night as Morris with the old man the Richelieu in to Salmon River in the Salaberrys place

2n Sunday Charlie & I came home the Bourdeaus 7 of them here all night with the Wind got an order from Lashey for Lavinia of 10/- on Bakers store got 4 EEls From Lashey came home Charlie went home sleeping all Day mostly Reading Papers I got From Dan Cameron

3rd this Day 5 years Granda Died Fixing Boards for the Floor Let out the calves put nails on their noses to Keep them from sucking

4th Fixing in Boars in the Floor cleaning the stove Shot 2 squirrels got a Black Rat the first I got here Set 8 Traps in the Front Marsh seen the Fox
