Mr James Cameron Island January

Thrashing the Last of the Pease and Fanning them 3 1/2 a cold Day the air holes shutting up well

8th Sunday Lashey here for his sleigh and scates I though I seen a Cutter crofsing Summers's Road cold to Day Freezing hard

9th Thrashed 3 Floors of wheat 7 Bushell Fanned this is the First of Thrashing of Wheat Francis Laplante here for Semos spear gave it to him all the Bosells Fishing EEls Turned Warmer seen cutters going on the ice and a Load of Hay as is supposed the cutter Turned Back 2 times to Summers Put Straw in the strawtick to Day

10th I went to Fish EEls opposite the Foot of Christees Island the Bosells came got 2 Turned Stormy came home very stormy East Wind First Feeding of Hay to the Horses

11th cold, snow Deep in the Breaking Roads Drawing a Little Wood home with the sleigh Banks of Snow Drifts

12th Getting Wood Breaking Roads

13 This is the Old New Year and it is stormy Went to the head of the Island cut the Top of the Top of the Oak Tree at the very point of the Island

13th Drawing wood out of the Bay with the Mare Soft Day to day cows goin to the Bush at night commenced to Drift & Blow

15th Sunday Cold Frosty

16th Thrashed 3 Bushels of Oats cold Weather

17th Thrashed 2 1/2 of Oats cold & Frosty a cold night too

18th cold Turned a Little Milder in the afternoon Went to Draw a Load of Wood great Dreams those nights Feeding the Cattle more than Common it is so cold

19th Drew 2 Loads of wood Went to Mr Harpers got 5/- of Flour 1 lb Candles -/10 1 spool Thread Pipe plug Tobacco some paper 1/2 lb Tea 1/10 1/2 Bought of Rolland 6 yds Tape 15 cents 3 skains 10 cents 1 spool Red 5 cents 30 cents in all

Went to Mr Harpers to 62 lbs of Oats to my account a Treat Gave George Bosell & Lewis a Ride down Bushing the upper Point Road some First Crofsing with a Horse

21st Went to Mr Harpers with a Bag of Pease & 2 Bushels of Oats 18 bl Beef 5/3 1 Qt Whiskey -/7 1/2 1/2 Gal Oil 1/8

22nd Crofsed to Francis Island turned Back was going to Semos

23 Fine Day Drawing Wood

24th Went with 3 Bushels B Wheat to Mrs Morris Bought of Mr Harper 2 lbs Butter 2/- Treat -/7 1/2 Bottle Whiskey -/10 1/2 25 Semo came to Thrash at the Wheat the Horse Dead

26th Fanning Wheat 4 Bushels Thrashed White Oats 4 Bushels commenced Black Oats Went to the store 1 1/2 Pease 3 1/2 Pints High Wines 14 lb Beef

27th Semo Thrashing

28th Thrashing & Fanning the Last and Frist of the Black Oats Gave him 2 Bushels Oats 2 Pease & 2 of Potatoes for his Pay Let him have the Mare to go home with his Pay

29th all alone

30th Went to Salmon River with 4 Bushels of Wheat Lis came Down with me Bought Mr Harper 1 plug Tobacco got my Account from P Buchanan Bought of Mr Streeter 1 pair for Livinia 2 1/2 their Money Bought of Congdon Mrs Minslows soothing syrup Pink & Semos

31st Went to Mr Harpers to 2 Bushels & some lbs over 80 odd lbs of Pease 25 lbs Beef 1/2 lb Tea a Treat -/7 1/2 Took Thomas Munroe up Home 1/3 for the Roseboroug Church Gave Mr Harper 5/- cash for to get me a Paper

1st February Went as far as Renshaws with Lis Went to Fish EEls with Henery Antwine to Christee Got 60 20 a peice

2nd all Bad with cold

3 taking home wood

4th Went to Charlies to Draw some Wood John Angus & James Hugh came Brought me a pair of Boots
