The Abdominal Woman There is one kind of patient in whom the presence of membranous colitis should always be strongly suspected, and that is what we may speak of as "the abdominal woman." You all know the type; those who have been in practice know her only too well. You remember her constant state of misery and dejection, her obstinate constipation and flatulence, her frequent complaint of vague abdominal discomfort or pain.
