The Heart in Scarlet Fever.

The heart should be carefully watched in all cases of scarlet fever. The possibility of inflammatory lesions, both endocardial and pericardial, should be recognized. I have recently lost a case from heart failure at the end of the sec-ond week. A rapid pules after the subsidence of the fever, or a weak second sound, should place us on guard.-Mc-Clanahan; Jour.
