26 Tuesday. Cold & showery. The men were working at the old house Grandpa Krauter came up here this afternoon and he is helping them. Mrs. Louis Miller and Mrs. Chas. Koepke visited Ella this afternoon. Our visitors tonight - Mr. & Mrs. Noah Miller, Orpha and Margaret.

27 Wednesday. Cold & windy. The men worked at the old house. Vernon was sowing oats this afternoon. Ella did her washing. {blotted out} Weaver was here for dinner and grafted some trees.

28 Thursday. Fair and not quite as cold as yesterday. Walter shipped hogs at Elmira. They started putting up the chicken house today. Vernon was sowing this afternoon. Ella cleaned three rooms upstairs. Walter Snider died very suddenly at Conestogo last night. Peter Mattusch and Oscar Vogt died at Elmira.
