July 1888

9 Jimie got a horse from S Laroque for 36 cts pr day for two weeks. and pasture all summer, Got 4 loaves at Dunlops 24 cts. paid Dixon 1.50. got a ln Paris Green 30. Machine oil 20. got 7 1/2 lbs beef at 7-50. Bot the barrel granulated sugar on Saturday. cost 22.34 = freight 35. 24 1 - 50 50 22.-69
10 The boy were mowing to day & Yesterday Far went to Fort Covington to day to work for Philip McKae. I gave him $.500 amd the 600 he got from Carr, make $11.00 on the sugar.
11. Wednesday. 10 P.m. There was quite a storm here abot from 5 to 7 Oclock. A greate deal of damage done to life and property. H. Minas, once Merchant of Lancaster was killed by a barn falling upon him
12. Pa's birthday. we were cleaning some potatoes and put Paris Green on them. 1 lb paris green 25 25
13. This is our fast day. Sunday will be communion day. there was a good deal of rain through the night Mr Burnet at Martintown preached
14. Jimie & Murdy went last night to Lancaster to go this morning to Valleyfield to play with Lancaster against Valleyfield Africa put in 6 loads of hay today
15 Had a very fine gathering at chuch today
16 I lost Pa's specs last night. To 1 lb soda. 5. 1 lb starch 10. 3/4 yd ticking 19 cts. paid Murdy's ? $.3.35 5 29 3-25
17 Pulled the red currants. and made jam 8 lb sugar
18 " black currants and white ones. 4 lbs of B.2 of W. I was not at prayer Meeting. Rev. D. Deame home had a letter from Far. Dolly had a horse colt at 2 A.M. It rained all this afternoon
19. Sent a letter to Far. Old Mrs McLennan paid Ran for 3 days work on road. 75 pr day 2:25 28.77
