July 1889

1 Bad oman. Pa on the war path, Jimie & Murdy left home early this morning to go to Valleyfield to play lacrosse. And such excursions has the same effect as shaking a red rag at a bull. Pa & Ran were fixing a piece of fence on the Carrvonsic place there is an entertainment in the Temperance Lodge.
2 Sabbath School Pic Nic to Hamilton's Island Birdie was the only one from our house she drove Dolly & took cousin Jimie Murdy & Ran, hoeing. Jimie ploughing.
3 Wednesday. Pa went in forenoon to Lancas. to try and sell the hay. Birdie & Manon went to L. in Afternoon. There was a Mr. Stickler killed in Lancaster this afternoon by the falling of a dryrick. Pa & myself were picking the potatoes in the cellar.
4. I was picking potatoes in forenoon, went to the womans meeting at James Dingwall R.R. in afternoon my offering 50. beautif. day. It rained on Tuesday & Wednesday but was fine all day. Pa paid $300 to Givin's stipand. for two qarters
5 Fine cool day. This was our fast day before communion. Gordon Smith preache, read 91 Psalm, text Rom. 12, Verse got 8 loaves . 50 cts Pa & I were picking potatoes in cellar just finished at 8. P.M.
6 Up at 1/4 to 4. to get Jimie ready for Cornwall Sent 32 bush potatoes. sold for 51 cts pr bush. bot 400. of flour at 2.80 got 8 loaves of bread 50. Ettushank was taken to Montreal by Dr Falkner to have an operation performed 10 {?} 80 50
